costuming

i’m planning a halloween costume for the first time in many years. i won’t tell you what it is yet, but it’s going to involve making these spats:

in pretty much just those colors. and some matching mitts/wristwarmers.

finding those spats at www.thankyoufornotbeingperky.com made me realize i can make this costume not as a trashy throw-away one-night stand but out of pieces that i actually feel good in and would want to wear, separately, again.

now to find time for fabric shopping and sewing.
